Where the Wild Things Are

Alexandra Valenti is a photographer with an eye for the raw and rugged. Her fashion photography and chosen models are an indication of the truth that there is beauty in difference, and beauty in strangeness. The locations she chooses to shoot in are anywhere from farms and secret woods areas that look abandoned, castles, the desert; anywhere with baren landscapes and a sense of magical realism seems the perfect place for an Alexandra Valenti shoot. Ever since I came across a few of her photos I have not been able to stop looking. Her models are raw and real, tattooed, and while very beautiful, not at all your typical white washed version of a pretty model. The colors are hauntingly vibrant, or faded and seedy black and whites. Her photographs make you feel as if you have stepped into a midsummer's night dream and are running around with fairy nymphs and other beautiful, wild creatures.
